New Recycling Facilities in Chester Green

We have apparantley received new facilities where we can recycle our waste, here in Chester Green. A statement from the Waste Management Inspector is below:

A decision has finally been made to place recycling banks down on the car
park next to the tennis courts. These have been installed today and a
litter bin will be put out there next week. Obviously we will monitor the
site and if similar problems occur we may well have to bring the site in
again. Fingerscrossed this won’t happen!!

Coach and Horses Car Park

There was movement on the the coach and horses car park this morning in the form of some fencing being brought to the site. Does this mean that the flats originally proposed will be built? Is it the brewery fencing off the wasteland? Is it a new owner ? Who knows! More info/gossip when I get it!

View and Contribute to Derbyshire’s Past

A new site has come to my attention. You and Yesterday is all about Derbyshire’s past and is a Wiki, meaning that the content can be easily added to by its users. So, if you’ve got any good old photos, get posting. If not, why not have a read and perhaps add some text to the site!

As an example, a story about the floods of 1965 can be found here.

Gypsies gone…..

…..just their mess (as in rubbish, and as in ‘dog mess’ – turns out dog owners can be fined, Gypsies can’t!) left behind, so I’m told.

I think we need to find out exactly what powers the police do have in these situations as I’m surprised at what an easy target we were here in Chester Green – 300m from the nearest police station. As far as most people can see, they don’t seem to have any (although I’m sure if I tried to settle on council land by causing criminal damage, I’d be arrested……..)
